Afternoon 53 years of hostile or antagonistic politics, President Obama, with the help of Canada and Pope Francis, has extended hands to Raoul Castro, the current appointed President of Cuba, to normalize diplomatic relations with Cuba after isolating the Island nation for over a half of a century. Many global north countries have applauded President Obama’s toward spreading democracy in Cuba; however, many Cuban descendants who have suffered under the Castro regime have voiced their opposition.
